A daytrip to Nazaré on the hunt for the famous giant waves

Description:
Nazaré is a hotspot for big wave surfing and attracts surf fans from all over the world to see how professionals take on waves up to 28m high. Of course a trip to Nazaré was on top of my bucket list for my stay in Portugal. So I went there in early February with hope of getting to see this nature spectacle. Unfortunately I was not rewarded with big waves, but still I could sense the power of the Nazaré canyon and the wilderness of the ocean of this unique piece of earth. A walk along the beach and a stroll through the lovely town rounded off the day and made me go home with a smile on my face and some good shots on my camera.
